Perhaps the most famous and most controversial member of his family Norman Alfred Williams Lindsay was born in Creswick, Victoria, in 1879. He first came to prominence as an illustrator on the 'Bulletin'. Like his brother, Lionel he was a prolific writer with many books to his credit. He is recognised as Australia's premier etcher and with his wife Rose, produced many of the most sought after etchings. His works are represented in all major public collections in Australia.
