Biographical Information

Born in Ashburton, New Zealand in 1937, Robert McDowell studied at Canterbury and Otago Universities.

A graphic designer and painter, he has painted professionally since 1972. From 1976 he has won numerous awards including the Kelliher Award, Ashbuton Trust Awrd, Montana Art Award, Beecham Research Award, Michael Matter Award and the David Watt Ford Award.

His works are represented in numerous public collections.
