Biographical Information

Ron Prestney's formal art instruction was under the tutelage of the eminent New Zealand artist H. Linley Richardson, but over the years he has developed his own style of painting, working invariably in oils.

His aim is to capture the transient effect of light on the landscape.

Ron Prestney's work has been widely recognised, particuarly in New Zealand, where, as an active member of the N.Z. Academy of Fine Arts, he resided until 1988.

His business career involved him in 16 years of exrtensive overseas travel, which provided the opportunity to study international art trends, and was the catalyst for many of his works depicting the varied landscapes of other countries.
