Stanislaus Ivan (Stan) Rapotec (1913-97) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Yugoslavia in 1913, Rapotec studied in Zagreb and Vienna before coming to Australia in 1949. He quickly became known here for his figurative works, a style which later changed to a more abstract-expressionist line. Rapotec was a leading figure in Sydney art circles, and his works are represented in several state galleries. He died in 1997. Edit or add to this biography
