Vlase Zanalis (1902-73) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Greece in 1902, Vlase Zanalis arrived in Western Australia as a child. He studied under Linton at Perth Technical School and in the 1930s painted several murals for churches. In 1938 he completed a series of paintings depicting workers at the 'West Australian' newspaper and later one of a miner at work in the West Australian goldfields.
