Walter Brookes Spong (1851-1929) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in England in 1851, Spong arrived in Australia in 1887. He was a painter and theatrical designer and a foundation member of the Australian Artists' Association. He returned to England in 1898 where he exhibited with the Royal Institute of Painters and at the Royal Academy. His works are represented in the Art Gallery of NSW, the Mitchell Library and the National Portrait Gallery in London. He died in 1929. Edit or add to this biography
