William Alexander Dargie (1912-2003) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Melbourne, Dargie was a pupil of Archibald Colquhoun and Napier Waller.

He was the winner of the Archibald Prize eight times. In 1946 Dargie was appointed master of the National Gallery Schools.
