Biographical Information

A New Zealand artist born in 1895, Ngaio Marsh was a member of the Canterbury Society of Arts. She was one of a group of younger artists calling themselves 'The Group' who objected to the Society's method of selecting works for exhibition, and held their own exhibitions from 1927.
