Biographical Information

Little is known of Lilla Reidy's life story but she exhibited regularly with the Victorian Artists' Society from 1895 to 1910 and worked at 'Charterisville', Heidelberg, with E. Phillips Fox and Tudor St George Tucker in the 1890s. Examples of her accomplished plein-air painting style are reproduced in Topliss, H., The Artists' Camps 'Plein Air' Painting in Australia, Hedley, Melbourne, 1992, pls 8, 23, 54 (and her lovely portrait by Fox is pl. 7 and in Zubans, R., E. Phillips Fox, His Life and Art, The Miegunyah Press, Melbourne University Press, Melbourne, 1995, cat. 44, pl. C14). She died on 27 November 1933. Edit or add to this biography
