Biographical Information

Born in Sweden in 1856, Oscar Fristrom travelled to Australia in the 1890s, becoming known as a painter of Aborigines. A resident of Queensland, he was one of the founders and later president of the Royal Queensland Art Society. His works are represented in several state and provincial collections. He died in 1918.
