Biographical Information

A New Zealand sculptor born in 1896, Charles Oliver is believed to have arrived in Australia in the 1920s. He was a member of the Australian Sculptors Society during the 1930s. He worked as an assistant to Paul Montford on the Shrine of Remembrance. He is best remembered for his small figurative and animal sculptures. His work is represented in the National Gallery of Victoria. Oliver died in 1957. Edit or add to this biography
