Charles George Bannon (1919-93) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Scotland in 1919, Bannon came to Australia as a child. He studied at the National Gallery School, Melbourne, the Royal Melbourne Technical College and the Bendigo School of Mines. He was art master of St Peter's College, Adelaide for 15 years. He is also known as a theatrical designer. The winner of the 1955 Blake Prize, Bannon has paintings in the New South Wales and South Australian state galleries. He died in 1993. Edit or add to this biography
