Biographical Information

The brother of well known portrait painter, Oscar Fristrom, Edward Fristrom was born in Sweden in 1864, arriving in Brisbane in the 1890s.

Like his brother he frequently painted portraits of the indigenous people and later travelled to New Zealand where he gained a reputation as a portrait and landscape painter. While in New Zealand he taught at Eltham School.

In 1916 he went to California, where he lived until his death in 1950. Edit or add to this biography
