Biographical Information

Born in Melbourne in 1929, Meadmore studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He first came to notice as an industrial designer, winning the 'Good Design Award' in Sydney in 1953 for his steel dining chair. Best known as a sculptor, he spent many years in Europe. He returned to Sydney for two years and, in 1963, he moved to the USA where he became a citizen in 1976. Meadmore exhibited widely in Australia and the USA with many of his major works in public instalations. He died in 2005. Edit or add to this biography
