Her career spans 20 years of exhibitions including 9 solo shows 90 group exhibitions and 5 international biennales and she has received considerable recognition as a printmaker and jazz and blues singer. Dianne has been a teacher at the Canberra school of Art since 1981 and has been performing Jazz and Blues since 1990, most recently with the blues band Tung n' Groov and Jazz band MIST, Musicians from the Southern Tablelands.

Her work can be found in National collections as the NGA, NLA, ANU, Canberra University and other institutional and Library collections as well as international collections as the Archive for Visual and Concrete Poetry in Florida and the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington DC. There are some specific highlights, one being the co-founder and co-director of Studio One, two being the Director of the Criterion Fine Art Gallery and Press and three setting up the Edition + Artist Book Studio in the Canberra School of Art ANU where she is currently the lecturer in charge.

For the past 20 years Dianne has been masterprinter for over 200 editions for prominent Australian artists and has been curator for 3 major exhibitions in the field of print and book. One being the international touring exhibition "Fragile Objects" Melbourne, Washington, Switzerland and the National Library of Australia. Two "the print, the press, the artist and the printer" a documentation of the art presses of the Australian National Territory and three "Artist's Books" forty national and international artists who make books. In 1999 Dianne was awarded the CAPO Fellowship and during that time she completed her most recent artist book and CD "The Gene Pool" the first work to bring text, image and sound together in one piece. This artist book is the basis for her next exhibition "Resonant" to be seen at The Helen Maxwell Gallery in September 2001.

Dianne states "every artist has a sense of reality, some create new realities while others reinforce a true reality. It is my perception that on the plate, in the book or in song there is a momentary balance of forces. A space where I can be between realities. This seems to be the place I can summon up a dream, embroider the facts, narrate the ambiguous, ask questions, escape to other dimensions, celebrate life and explore the necessity and the limitations of my close human relationships." She shares a philosophy once articulated by Jean Dubuffet "Art does not lie down on the bed that is made for it; it runs away as soon as one says its name; it loves to be incognito. Its best moments are when it forgets what it is called."
