Biographical Information

This artist may be Edward William Minchen, who was born in Western Australia 25 June 1852, but whose birth was registered under name of MINCHIN. He was the First Secretary/Treasurer of the Art Society of NSW, and exhibited circa 1880 to 1890, with his address shown as Survey Office, Sydney.

. He died Sydney, 5 October 1913, Buried Gore Hill Cemetery, and the death was registered under name of MINCHIN.

Or it may be Ernest William Minchin who was born in Adelaide, SA 1855. He was instrumental in setting up a tennis club in Gawler in 1880 and also a councillor in Gawler in 1884. He worked for the National Bank, Kadina, SA. He died on 24 May 1894 at Union St, Unley, SA
