Edith Alsop (1871-1957) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Melbourne in 1871, Edith Alsop studied at the National Gallery School; she later travelled to Europe on sketching tours and was in Italy from 1929 to 1930. Known for her landscapes and portraits in pencil, chalk and watercolour, she exhibited with the Victorian Art Society between 1903 and 1957. Alsop was a member of the Arts and Crafts Society and the Independent Group. She died in 1957. Edit or add to this biography
