Biographical Information

An Aboriginal watercolourist, Edwin Pareroultja was born in 1918 at Hermannsburg near Alice Springs. A member of the Arunta Tribe and an outstanding athlete, he did not begin painting until 1943. He held his first exhibition of central Australian landscapes in Melbourne in 1946. His work is represented in the National Collection, Canberra and in most state galleries.
