Eleanor Kate Sperry (1862-93) New Zealand

Biographical Information

Born in New Zealand in 1862, Kate Sperry studied in Rome in the early 1880s, returning to New Zealand in 1885. Known for her work in oils, watercolours and drawings, she was also admired for her sculpture. She exhibited widely, and died in 1893. Her work is represented in the National Art Gallery and Turnbull Library in Wellington. Edit or add to this biography
