Elizabeth Durack (1915-2000) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Western Australia in 1915, Durack studied at the London Polytechnic. She spent several years living on the Ivanhoe and Argyle cattle stations and much of her work reflects life in the north-west of Australia. Durack was awarded an OBE for her services to the arts in 1966, and a CMG for services to art and literature in 1982. Her works are represented in the National Collection, Canberra and in several state galleries. Elizabeth Durack died in 2000. Edit or add to this biography
