Biographical Information

Elizabeth Rooney was born in Sydney in 1929 and studied at the East Sydney Technical College in 1949.

She is a Foundation member of the Sydney Printmakers Group 1961 which exhibits annually in Sydney, throughout New South Wales in regional exhibitions and interstate.

Rooney has been a teacher at Willoughby Workshop Arts Centre, and the National Art School East Sydney and has held six one woman exhibitions in Sydney.

She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Australia, UK, Italy, USA and South East Asia and was awarded the Mosman Print Prize in 1966.

Elizabeth Rooney is represented in Australian National Gallery, Canberra, the Art Gallery of NSW; National Gallery of Victoria
