Eric Albert Lee-Johnson (1908-93) New Zealand

Biographical Information

Born in 1908 in Suva, Lee-Johnson arrived in New Zealand in 1912, living in the King Country. He trained at the Elam School of Art and studied lithography in London from 1930 to 1934. On his return to New Zealand in 1942 he lived at Piha, working as a copywriter for an advertising company. In 1950 to 1951 he was editor of 'New Zealand Arts Year Book'. Lee-Johnson exhibited widely in New Zealand and overseas from 1946 and in 1969 his 'Drawings from North New Zealand' was published. He died in 1994 Edit or add to this biography
