George Joseph Victor Baldessin (1939-78) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Victoria in 1939, Baldessin studied extensively at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and in England and Europe. Best known as a sculptor and graphic artist, he held his first one-man exhibition in Melbourne in 1964. He was chosen as one of the two representatives for Australia at the 1975 Sao Paulo Biennale. His works are represented in the Art Gallery of New South Wales. George Baldessin was killed in a motor accident in Victoria in 1978. Edit or add to this biography
