Biographical Information

Born in Melbourne in 1911, Alan Sumner studied at Collingwood and Melbourne Technical Colleges, the National Gallery of Victoria School and at the George Bell School. A painter, silkscreen printer and stained glass designer, he was the head of the National Gallery School from 1954 to 1962. Sumner died in 1994. Edit or add to this biography
