Biographical Information

Born in England in 1815, Hamar Arden was son of the watercolourist, Francis Arden. He arrived in New Zealand in 1853 where he lived mainly in Taranaki. He is best known for his watercolour landscapes of New Plymouth. Arden died in 1895 and his work is represented in NZ public collections such as the Hocken Library. Edit or add to this biography
