Biographical Information

He was born 10 April 1900.died 1979 aged 79 and 3 quarters, cremated at Pinegrove memorial gardens,gteat western freeway, near Penrith NSW. mEMORIAL PLAQUE in PINEGROVE.Harry Emmett was born in Hanley ,Staffordshire UK. in 1900 and moved to Sydney in July 1948 to take up a position with Australian Abrasives Pty. Ltd. in Auburn NSW.

He trained under English artist Percy Bradshaw while in UK. And took up professional oil painting in his spare time, selling in Sydney and Parramatta

He retired from his job in 1964 and moved to Katoomba NSW to take up painting full time.

Emmett's works are mainly of Blue Mountains scenery, but he is also well known for Australian scenes, gum trees and water scenes. Edit or add to this biography
