Henry Charles Prinsep (1844-1922) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in India in 1844, Henry Prinsep studied in London and Germany. A businessman, civil servant and painter, he arrived in Fremantle, WA in 1866. Here he bred horses, then joined the public service where he became head of the Mines Department in 1894. Mayor of Busselton for some years, he was a member of the Wilgie Club and his watercolours are represented in the Art Gallery of Western Australia. He died in 1922. Edit or add to this biography
