Recknall was one of the group of artists who lived and painted at Charterisville; the house at Heidelberg in Victoria which was first occupied by Walter Withers in 1890. Recknell was part of the second phase of artists who lived there, which also included Lionel and Norman Lindsay, Will Dyson and Max Meldrum Edit or add to this biography
