James Montgomery Cant (1911-82) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Victoria in 1911, Cant studied at the East Sydney Technical College and the Julian Ashton School before going to England in 1932. He returned to Australia in 1939. After service with the AIF during World War II, and a short period in London, he settled in Adelaide where he painted and taught art. He exhibited in several countries and his works are represented in most state and major provincial galleries. James Cant died in 1982. Edit or add to this biography
