Biographical Information

Born in Holland in 1861, Scheltema studied at the Royal Academy in Brussels prior to his arrival in Australia in 1890. He is best known for his animal paintings (it is said that he often collaborated with other artists, painting cattle and sheep into their landscapes). His works are represented in several state and provincial collections. He died in 1938. Edit or add to this biography
