Biographical Information

John Emmett was born in 1927 at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England,

He was educated at Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire and Manchester University and and came to Australia in 1948,

He was appointed Managing Director of Sherwood Radio Pty.Ltd 1952-1956 and was then employed as an announcer and Station Manager at 2KA Katoomba from 1956-63.

In 1964 he designed and built the "Three Explorers Motel" in Katoomba

Around this time he began painting Blue Mountains scenes, bush and water scenes, and later scenes of Fiji, New Zealand, England, Scotland and Wales as a resident of Katoomba from 1956-2000

John Emmett moved to Raby Bay Cleveland, Queensland in July 2000. Edit or add to this biography
