John Ford Paterson (1851-1912) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Dundee. Studied at the Royal Scottish Academy School. Came to Melbourne in 1872, when he met Buvelot. They painted together until Paterson returned to Edinburgh in 1875, where he exhibited at the principal galleries. Returned to Melbourne in 1884, and later became a trustee of the Melbourne National Gallery and president of the Victorian Artists' Society in 1901-2. Edit or add to this biography
