Biographical Information

Born in Greece, Alkis Astras studied widely in Europe prior to his arrival in Australia.

He is a practising architect who is known for his realist style of painting.Born in Athens and grew up in the dark days of the Second World War and the Greek Civil War. The house in which he has born,facing the Acropolis,was used as headquarters both by the enemy and dy the allies during yhe war.

He held his first personal exhibition in 1954, and since that time has never ceased to create and exhibit.

He has exhibited in many countries, and works by him have been acquired by collectors including prime ministers, actors and art-lovers,.. Edit or add to this biography
