Jon Molvig (1923-70) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in New South Wales in 1923, Molvig studied at the East Sydney Technical College, becoming known in the early 1950s through his entries for the Archibald Prize, which he finally won in 1966. Molvig's early works (1955-61) have been compared to those of the American artist, William de Kooning. His works are represented in several state and provincial collections. He died in 1970.
