Biographical Information

Born in Latvia in 1908, Meilerts studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Riga, and travelled extensively in Europe. A painter in the style of the French impressionists, she exhibited in Germany before coming to Australia in the late 1940s. She won the Dunlop Prize in 1950. Her work is represented in several state and provincial collections. Ludmilla Meilerts died in 1998. Edit or add to this biography
