Ann Robinson (1944-.) New Zealand

Biographical Information

Ann Robinson attended Elam School of Fine Art, Auckland University, in the late 1960s, leaving the school mid way through her degree to explore other avenues. Ann returned to Elam and completed her studies after a 15 year break, inspired to learn and develop techniques in casting glass. Ann captures light through glass. Her pure, simple forms in deep rich red hues to pure, crystalline amethysts and emerald greens encapsulate the natural environment. The vessels are constantly evolving, transcending concepts of sculpture and craft. She has travelled internationally and nationally to teach and educate others about her craft. In 2001 Ann was awarded the Officer of the NZ Order of Merit (ONZM). Ann Robinson is represented by FHE, Auckland. JP Edit or add to this biography
