Biographical Information

Anne Middleton is the daughter of plein-air painter Max Middleton. She grew up in the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne, the inspiration for many of her father's paintings. In 1995 she studied traditional fresco and egg tempera painting techniques in Italy.In 1988 gained a Bachelor of Education (Arts & Crafts) from Melbourne College of Advanced Education/Melbourne University and in 2004, Anne was awarded a Fellowship from the prestigious Bogliasco Foundation in Italy, the first Australian to receive this award.As well as painting from her studio in Albert Park, she runs her own art gallery in the same suburb..
