Biographical Information

Born in Otago, N Z in 1932 Annie Elizabeth Baird was principally self taught. However she did attend classes run by Doris Lusk and Colin McCahon. Her work is also influenced by Cezanne and Matisse.

She first exhibited at the Dawson Gallery in 1973, and has exhibited widely in New Zealand and Europe.

Best known as a watercolourist she illustrated several books and was the winner of numerous art prizes and awards. She died in 1999. Edit or add to this biography
