Biographical Information

Peata Larkin is an Auckland based artist and graduate of Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University, currently completing a Master of Fine Arts at RMIT University, Melbourne. 'I believe my work shifts easily from a local context; referencing specific raranga patterns (relevant to my iwi) but transform into universal significance; metaphorically exploring the evolution of cultures via visual complexities'. Peata Larkin. Peata has been a finalist and award winner in numerous national art prizes, including the runner up in the Mazda Emerging Artist award in 2006.
