Biographical Information

Born in 1869, Maude Fleay (nee Glover) was a painter of Australian flora and fauna. She studied at the National Gallery of Victoria School. Fleay exhibited regularly in Melbourne, and before her marriage in 1905, also gave music lessons and wrote short stories for newspapers and magazines under pen names. She died in 1965. A $1000 bursary in her name was presented by her daughter, Mrs Mary Beasy at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1980. Edit or add to this biography
