Sheila Lethbridge McDonald (1902-71) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Sydney in 1902, Sheila McDonald studied at the East Sydney Technical College and under Julian Ashton and Desiderius Orban. She travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Pacific. She painted from several converted houses in the East Sydney area until her death in 1971. The first of her many exhibitions was held in Sydney in 1958 and her paintings were included in the 1962 exhibition at the Sao Paulo Biennale. Her works are represented in the Art Gallery of NSW and provincial collections. Edit or add to this biography
