Biographical Information

Born in Adelaide in 1879, Bessie Davidson studied under Margaret Preston in Adelaide and in Europe. She lived in France from 1905 where she became a member of the New Salon and the Salon des Tuileries and was president of Femmes Artistes Moderne. In 1931 she was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour. She visited Australia on several occasions. Bessie Davidson's works are represented in the South Australian Gallery and in several European public collections. She died in Paris in 1965. Edit or add to this biography
