Biographical Information

Born in South Australia in 1870, Claude Marquet was a cartoonist for several illustrated papers, including 'Table Talk Hour' 'Sporting Life' Melbourne 'Punch' and the 'Sydney Worker''. Said to be Australia's first artist of the Labor Movement he became known - along with Syd Nicolls - as leader of the political left. Marquet died in Sydney in 1920 Edit or add to this biography
