Francois Cogne (1829-83) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Paris in 1829, Francois Cogne was active in the Victorian goldfields in the 1850s. He made a series of lithographs of Ballarat in 1859 and a number of plates for 'The Melbourne Album' produced by Charles Troedel in 1863-64. He also worked as an engraver for the magazine 'Ballarat Punch'. He died in 1883 Edit or add to this biography
