Fred Flood (1881-1965) Australia

Biographical Information

Born in Greenwich, London in 1881 Fred worked in Britain as a commercial artist and designer.

He arrived in Perth, Western Australia in 1912 with his wife and three children, he first worked for the West Australian Newspapers Ltd. as an artist in their process-engraving department.

From the early 1920s the newspaper engaged him as a photographer, a position he maintained until his retirement in the 1950s.

He was a memebr of the state's first photography club, "The van Raalte Club", named after the then well-known printmaker.

Fred was also a competent watercolourist, his works displaying the beauty and tranquillity of nature. Edit or add to this biography
