Biographical Information

Born in Brisbane in 1934, Gordon Shepherdson studied art in Brisbane under Caroline Barker, Jon Molvig and Andrew Sibley. While working in an abattoir during his early years, slaughtered animals formed the theme of his painting. Shepherdson first exhibited in 1964. In 1980 he was awarded the Georges Art Prize. His work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, Queensland Art Gallery, regional and university collections. Edit or add to this biography
