Graeme Storm (1936-.) New Zealand

Biographical Information

Graeme Storm was born in Auckland n 1936.

He studied in Auckland and Dunedin Teachers' Colleges and began making pottery and building kilns at his parents' Orakei home in 1956.

Formerly an Arts & Crafts Advisor for the N.Z.Education Department, he became a professional potter in 1964 and in the intervening years has travelled extensively abroad, studying and teaching.

He received grants from the NZ Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth 2nd Arts Council and the Japan Foundation. His work can be found in Museums and Galleries both in New Zealand and overseas.

Graeme has had a long and abiding interest in colour in high fired ceramics and he works in stoneware and porcelain - mainly wheel and slab work - from his home and studio in Torbay, Auckland. Edit or add to this biography
