Biographical Information

Born in London in 1899, Ian Hassall studied at the London School of Art.

He was a staff artist for Windsor & Newton in England. On migration to Australia he became known as a painter, (specialising in landscapes), a sculptor and illustrator.

He was the first art teacher at Rosanna High School in Victoria (now known as La Trobe University High School) in Victoria, and a director of a commercial open-air gallery at Eltham in Victoria. Edit or add to this biography
