Biographical Information

A watercolourist, commercial artist and teacher, Ivy Burton Fox (nee Read) was born in 1899. She studied at the National Gallery School in Melbourne, and in 1921 moved to California with her husband and fellow artist, Elton Fox. They returned to Melbourne in 1935 and opened a commercial art school, their most famous pupil being Joy Hester. Ivy was a member and regular exhibitor at the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors until 1981. She died in 1987. Edit or add to this biography
