James Patrick (Pat) Hanly (1932-2004) New Zealand

Biographical Information

A New Zealand artist, Patrick Hanly was born in Palmerston North in 1932. He studied at the Canterbury University School of Art, and in 1957 went to London and Europe where he worked and studied European artists such as Chagall, Picasso and Bacon. He returned to New Zealand in 1962. Hanly has exhibited widely in New Zealand and overseas and has won a number of awards. Edit or add to this biography
